Adding Memory
Adding Memory
You can install additional DIMMs (dual indine memory modules) in your
PC, to a maximum of 384 megabytes (MB)..
You must use 3.3V unbuffered DIMMs.

! Make sure you observe the proper safety precautions when you add DIMMs to
your Sony PC. See "Notes on Use" on page 141.
To install memory
1 Shut down your PC and turn off all peripheral devices, such as your
printer, display, and speakers,
2 Unplug the power cord on your PC.
3 Remove the side and rear panels as described on pages 120-121.
4 If necessary, remove any add-in cards or other components to access
■ the DIMM sockets.
5 Handle the DIMM only by the edges, and remove it from its anti
static package.
6 Locate the keys on the bottom edge of the DIMM.
